Our Board

Emma Gray

Founder and Executive-director

Emma founded ‘The Nurtured Village Hampers' which was a community kindness initiative in 2019 after the birth of her first-born daughter Mabel.

After realising the reality of motherhood, the depths of isolation for new mums, Emma decided to create a village of support. Admist her role as a registered health practitioner of over 11 years, a wife and mum of 2 under 2, Emma registered the charity as a health promotion charity in July of 2022.

"I first started The Nurtured Village because I felt isolated and a profound loss of identity when I first become a mum. I was in my home wondering why we did it all alone and pretended like everything was fine to everyone around us, when really I was wondering, how come everyone else seemingly has it all together? who am I? How am I going to get a shower in today? why didn’t anyone tell me about postpartum hair loss ? and why the hardest part of parenthood isn’t actually your baby, its you.”
